Typing

 
With all the technology available and the amazing things our children are capable of, it is time to teach some typing!  In third grade, students will be taking important tests on the computer.  Several of these tests will require the students to compose on the computer.  They must be proficient at typing.  It would be so unfair for our children to under-perform simply because they couldn't find the right keys.

1st grade is not too early to start key boarding and building those typing skills.  We have been playing some fun internet games linked below.

Also, we have started working in a program called TypingWeb.  When a student goes to the typing website they will have to log in with their username (first.last) and password (student id).  Then the website takes them through lessons and charts their progress and accuracy.  We are trying to get on once a week.  If you are interested in doing some extra practice at home, it can only help.  The children are enjoying learning and are getting quite good!  Thank you for your continued support.
