Tuesday's book theme was I'm Not Going to Get Up Today and the Sleep Book. The students wore their pajamas to school and some even pulled off great "bed head." We had donuts to start our morning. And, while the theme said "I'm not going to get up today" we couldn't wait to get to school and be a part of the fun! It is so comfy to read and learn in your jammies!
In math, we worked on greater than and less than with a game using dominoes. After this quick warm up, we used Dr. Seuss's book One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish to do an estimating activity. I had a bowl of colorful goldfish crackers. The students made an estimate of how many were in the bowl. We were all very surprised how many fish could pile in a bowl. After all the students made an estimate, we counted out groups of ten. Surprisingly, there were 334 goldfish crackers in the bowl!
